They had been using ACT! contact management software by Symantec® for many years, and contacted the company with this need. Mario is pleased to report that indeed Q-Form proved to be "exactly what we needed" and that Q-Form "puts (the information) right where we need it".

To compound Q-Form's benefits, they are using it in conjunction with GoldMine's Automated Processes™. In operation since 1996, ERG was highlighted in the October 26, 1998 issue of US News & World Report (see "Hunting for Headhunters" by Mary Lord). The article discussed trends in recruiting and the effect that the Internet has had on the industry.

The Q-Form™ Solution: ERG's senior recruiting partner, Gene McCabe, describes the business need that led them to Q-Form: "On a daily basis, we receive a flood of resumes via e-mail. Our goal has always been to accurately catalog and categorize each of those resumes. Each day, time is of the essence, but it is important to give each resume a thorough review so that we may properly catalog their life experiences in our GoldMine database. Our clients usually have very specific requirements with regards to professional experience, educational and geographic backgrounds. If the candidates have been properly entered into Goldmine, we can run a variety of custom queries against that 'talent' database and the result is usually a handful of very good matches. It takes between 15-20 minutes to accurately review and hand-key and catalog a single resume into Goldmine. We needed a 'smart' contact form that was able to provide us data in a .dbf or .txt format that could be imported directly into Goldmine with fewer keystrokes."

Gene goes on to explain how Q-Form met that need: "Job Seekers complete an online form, answering questions about their professional and educational backgrounds. Once they hit the 'Submit' key, their data is sent to ERG via an email. From the Goldmine E-mail center, we receive the email and a Goldmine record is automatically created, with literally nothing more that a 'double-click' of the mouse. If the Job-Seeker filled out the form in it's entirety, ERG has a candidate that can be queried on instantly. The service has eliminated many hours of tedious manual labor. The data is imported into custom and key fields within Goldmine that allows the ERG staff instant access to the database of 'talent' with a simple query."

According to Gene, the resulting timesavings from not having to hand-key a large amount of data has been the most significant return on their investment so far. We're sure that increases in sales and income are soon to follow.
